Step 1: Check Your System Configuration

At first, you have to check the configuration of your computer. The higher the configuration, it would be that better.

To check the available RAM of your computer, right-click on Start menu. Chose System from the menu. See installed RAM section to determine how much RAM your computer has.

If you have MAC computer, just go to Apple menu > About This Mac. Look for the RAM at the Memory section.

Step 2: Install Latest Version of Java

Before digging into deeper, you have to make sure that you have the latest version of Java on your computer. Don’t forget to download Java according to your computer, as if it is 32-bit or 64-bit. For detailed information see the Java download instruction.

Go to Java download page and download the latest version. Then complete Java installation successfully. It’s recommended to update your Java to starting RAM allocation.

Step 3: Open Minecraft Launcher Settings

Run the Minecraft Launcher on your computer. Check the Minecraft launcher version at the lower-left corner of the window. Make sure that you have version 2.0 or more.

Step 4: Allocate More Ram to Minecraft

However, if have the Minecraft Launcher window, click on menu icon.

At the beginning of the JVM Arguments field, you will get a text like -Xmx1G. Replace the 1G with the RAM you want to wants to allocate to Minecraft.

Like if you want 3 Gigabyte RAM to allocate Minecraft, replace -Xmx1G with -Xmx3G.

Allocate More Ram to Minecraft Old Launcher

Firstly, open the Minecraft launcher and check it’s version at the bottom-left corner of the window. If it’s version 1.6 or lower, follow this procedure to allocate more RAM to Minecraft.

You have to ensure that you have the latest version of Java installed on your computer before starting. However, here’s the full process to allocate more Ram to your Minecraft server. It’s so easy but you should follow these steps carefully.

Step 1: Determine the Total RAM on Your Computer

Firstly, you must identify the exact amount of RAM your computer has. You shouldn’t allocate the insane amount of RAM to Minecraft server. It’s better to leave sufficient amount of RAM for another process of your computer.

On Windows, right click on start menu select System to view installed RAM. If you are on MAC, go to Apple menu > About This Mac.

Step 2: Go to Minecraft Server Directory

Open the Minecraft Server directory that contains Minecraft_server.exe. Once you found the server folder create a new text file.

On the text file, copy and paste this code.

java -Xmx****M -Xms****M -exe Minecraft_Server.exe -o true

Replace the **** with the megabytes space you want to allocate to your Minecraft server.

To allocate 1GB, type 1048M. For 2GB, enter 2072M. For 4GB, 4096M and for 5GB type 5120M.

Step 3: Run the Newly Created File

Write the .bat next after the file while saving it. It will work as file extension for that file. If you are on Linux, use you use .sh as an extension.

Ok, now save the file on Minecraft server directory. Then open the newly created file to start Minecraft. It will work as a launcher for Minecraft server. Also, it will allocate the provided amount RAM for the Minecraft Server.

Allocate More Ram to Minecraft Twitch Mods

You can also allocate more RAM to Minecraft Twitch profiles. It’s easy, just use those steps to set more RAM to any custom Minecraft Mod Twitch profiles.

Step 1: Open the Twitch App

Open the Twitch App on your computer device.

Step 2: Go to Twitch Mod

After opening the Twitch app, Go to the Mods section. At the Mods section, you will see many games including the Minecraft. Click on the Minecraft option.

At the Mods menu, select Minecraft. If you can’t find Minecraft, then you can search for it.

Uncheck the Use System Settings option that is located under Member Settings.

Now toggle the slider to allocate more RAM to your Minecraft Mod profile. You can move the slider to any spot, but it’s better to not take it away from recommended amount RAM.

Allocate More Ram to Minecraft Technic Launcher

Well, you may use Technic Launcher for Minecraft. If you want to allocate more ram to Minecraft Technic Launcher then here’s the process you should follow.

Step 1: Download latest version of Java

You have to download and install the latest version of Java on your computer. Also, make sure that you are downloading it based on your computer.

Firstly, you should check if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit. Then you need to start downloading the correct version.

Step 2: Open the Technic Launcher

Now, open the Technic Launcher and click on the Launcher Options. Then go to Java Settings.

  1. The latest installer on the Mac has changed again. No menu in the top right corner. I think I found the JVM argument to change. Edit installations. Show more options. In the JVM setting the -Xmx2G setting is the first in the list. Changed the number to 4 and it worked.
