How to Check NAT Type on PS4

Step 1: Power up your PlayStation 4 console.
Step 2: Now, go to Settings > Network > View Connection Status.
Step 3: Wait for few seconds, and you will get the NAT type at the bottom.

Change NAT Type on PS4
It’s not that simple to change NAT Type of your PlayStation 4. You have to toggle some settings of your router. It’s better to manage your router manual.

Step 1: Open the browser and enter the Default Gateway IP Address(you have noted before). Press Enter.
Note: In the most router, the gateway address is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254.

Forward Ports for PS4(recommended): At your router settings, go to Port Forwarding section. It varies according to different routes, so check the manual. Once you found that, Add/Open custom ports.
Now, according to Sony’s advise you should open those port numbers.
For TCP = 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480
For UDP = 3478, 3479
Step 5: After forwarding mentioned ports to PlayStation 4, Click on Save changes.
Step 6: Finally, close the browser.

Alternative method(not recommended): Go to DMZ Settings of your of your router using the manual. Then, enable DMZ and enter the IP Address of your PS4(noted before).
Finally, click on Save button, to save changes.
However, you must restart your PS4 and check if the change has affected or not. The correct NAT Type can let your PlayStation 4 connected to PlayStation Network(PSN) freely.
